Fieldwork, Facilities and Equipment
As well as learning the underlying theory in lectures and readings, students will undertake surveying tasks both on land and on the water, and process and analysis their collected data in the computer laboratories at the School of Surveying. The fieldwork ranges from practical sessions of a few hours in inflatable open boatsto learn about equipment, up to a two week final survey period where students will plan and conduct a survey, and create all the required products. This will either be onboard the University's own vessel, the RV POLARIS II, or another suitable vessel.
