Required Papers
The Category A programme consists of a number of papers in various disciplines covering the various subject requirements. These include foundation level concepts in Mathematics, Physics and Geodesy, as well as Land Surveying and Positioning Techniques, Hydrographic Surveying equipment and techniques, Law of the Sea, Marine Science, and Nautical Studies.

Depending on a student's background, their chosen course will not necessarily be completely filled with the above list. Choice in the remaining papers is left to the student, however papers in Advanced Surveying Methods, Computer Programming, Marine Science, Physics or Geology could help provide a broader knowledge base for future work and study.
