Category A Hydrographic Surveying
Postgraduate
The course will depend on what studies the graduate has previously conducted (and hence what can be exempted). Exemptions from papers are decided by the School on a case by case basis, and so a prospective student should seek advice from the School early in the year prior to intended study.
Typically, a BSurv graduate may be able to achieve a PGDipSci and the IHO Cat A in one year.
See John Hannah's CAT A options [download pdf].

Alternatively, a graduate may be able to do a two year Masters of Science (Masters of Surveying for a BSurv graduate), completing all the necessary papers in the first year, and completing a thesis in the second year.
